Jan 3, 2024 -DAS Solar and Hebei University signed a technology transfer agreement, and the opening ceremony for the DAS Solar-Hebei University Photovoltaic Innovation Research Center took place at Hebei University at the same time. Mr. Liu Yong, Chairman and President of DAS Solar, attended the event and participated in research collaboration discussions. Dr. Song Dengyuan, CTO of DAS Solar, and Professor Shan Yaojun, Vice President of Hebei University signed an agreement to transfer technological achievements and patents related to Passivation Solution Efficiency Technology in Crystalline Silicon Cells. Dr. Song Dengyuan explained the primary tasks of the 'DAS Solar-Hebei University Photovoltaic Innovation Research Center'.
"Both parties would utilize the Photovoltaic Innovation Research Center to jointly address key core technologies and forefront common issues in the photovoltaic industry", Mr. Liu Yong said in his address. As a leader in N-type technology, it has established 10 photovoltaic manufacturing bases in areas such as Quzhou, Taizhou, Shuozhou, and Suzhou. DAS Solar possesses a CNAS lab and has successfully built a production capacity of 30GW for high-efficiency cells and 30GW for high-efficiency modules. In addition, DAS Solar highly respects and protects intellectual property, has applied for over 500 Chinese and international patents and obtained 256 granted patent applications by the end of 2023. To explore new mechanisms for industry, academia, and research, DAS Solar and Hebei University have established long-term, trusted research collaborations, leveraging complementary strengths.
DAS Solar signs technology transfer agreement with Hebei University
In accordance with the technology transfer agreement, Hebei University fully transferred to DAS Solar achievements and patents related to passivation solution efficiency technology in crystalline Silicon cells. Through the Photovoltaic Innovation Research Center, both parties will collaborate to advance the application of this achievement, realize its large-scale production, and develop the next generation of passivation solutions to improve efficiency. Mr. Liu Yong and Mr. Shan Yaojun presented appointment letters to the newly appointed researchers of the DAS-Hebei University Photovoltaic Innovation Research Center.
A passivation solution efficiency technology developed by Hebei University is based on the electrochemical passivation principle. This process can be used to passivate defects caused by edge damage in efficient cell slices such as TOPCon. This reduces the efficiency of sliced cells, thereby enhancing module power. This technology has advanced passivation principles, is inexpensive, and can be easily industrialized on a large scale. The combination of DAS Solar TOPCon 4.0 technology allows high-efficiency modules to benefit from the full efficiency improvement of cells, overcoming the technical barrier of slicing high-efficiency solar cells.
Research on 40 % efficient SFOS cells was previously conducted by DAS Solar in collaboration with the Martin Green team at the University of New South Wales, Australia. Through the collaboration with Hebei University, DAS Solar's innovative advances in N-type technology will be further accelerated, fostering the sustainable development of international photovoltaic technology.
