On November 18, the N-type photovoltaic industry development conference 2023 took place in Quzhou city, Zhejiang Province, with DAS Solar participating as a co-organizer. The conference centered on the strategic integration of the N-type supply chain, fostering in-depth collaboration to establish a robust N-type development ecosystem. The conference facilitated comprehensive discussions and extensive exchanges on high-reliability N-type TOPCon module encapsulation films and technology. Over 100 representatives of companies and industry experts from the N-type photovoltaic supply chain attended the conference.
On this occasion, Dr. Song Dengyuan, the CTO of DAS Solar, said "The photovoltaic industry has entered an iteration period, transitioning from P-type to N-type technology." As a leader in N-type technology, DAS Solar was selected into the BloombergNEF’s list of "Top 10 Manufacturers by annual solar module shipment 2023". As part of its innovation and development processes, DAS Solar has collaboratively launched the "Initiative on Standardizing Rectangular Silicon Wafer Module Dimensions" and the "TOPCon Industry Chain Initiative for Carbon Neutral Actions" with several leading photovoltaic companies, offering beneficial support for the comprehensive green development of the entire photovoltaic supply chain.
In the following speech, Dr. Song Dengyuan delivered a keynote entitled "DAS Solar’s N-Type Technology Development and Application", where Dr. Song Dengyuan presented the company's innovative development, passivation structure technology development lineage, and TOPCon4.0 technology advantages. DAS Solar is dedicated to continuous exploration and rigorous research in N-type technology, consistently surpassing industry standards in cell and module efficiency. Equipped with DAS Solar's cutting-edge TOPCon 4.0 cell technology, an impressive 26.33% efficiency was achieved by DAS Solar's large-area (333.4cm²) solar cell. A technology roadmap developed by the company includes pathways – TBC, SCPC and TSiX – which will result in a cell efficiency of up to 35%.
"As solar cells become more efficient and new structures and materials are adopted, encapsulation film reliability is becoming increasingly important," said Dr. Song Dengyuan. Since TOPCon cells have a silver/aluminum paste on their front, they are more sensitive to moisture, so the encapsulation film must have stronger waterproofing. At the same time, EVA material may produce acid, corrode the grid lines of the cells after reacting with glass, decreasing the performance of the module. Therefore, the POE film exhibits superior performance in encapsulation, which maximizes the realization of the N-type advantages. A detailed data comparison analysis reveals that high-reliability POE encapsulation brings long-term, stable gains in power generation value for customers.
To achieve long-term stability and healthy development, a new mutually beneficial model for the photovoltaic ecosystem will be developed by DAS Solar, as well as a collaborative effort to create an eco-friendly environment for the photovoltaic industry in the future.
